Pioneering HGJ

I grew up in rural Illinois, the youngest of 5, where our values were faith, family, and hard work. In that order. Our garden, pasture, and Hodel’s eggs kept our family busy and fueled year-round. Shortly after learning to walk, I learned to plant, grow, harvest, and preserve goods for Winter.

In the Rocke Family, if it couldn’t be grown, sewn, or created, we likely didn’t have it. This entrepreneurial spirit and imaginative DIY lifestyle was all I knew and certainly inspired my product ideas for HGJ. So while my brand was figuratively grown on our RR1 Homestead in Metamora, I continue to reimagine, craft, and create new products in the mountains of West Nevada, where I live now with my husband of 20 years. I think HGJ will always represent the best of me, my childhood, and the influences in it.
